I am the one in the skeleton costume. I was born in Wilmington, Delaware, raised in New Jersey, and live in Amherst, Massachusetts. My parents were kind people. I have 4 siblings that I am grateful for, various fine nieces and nephews, and 2 smart, fierce, and always interesting children.

I am educated, some would say. My BFA is in painting, from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. I returned to school after several years away, and in 2000 received an MFA in Computer Art at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

I teach at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Greenfield Community College, Greenfield MA, and Springfield Technical Community College, Springfield, MA. I find that I learn new things from my students in unanticipated ways, almost all of the time.
